Surface treatment
1. Chromated
The chromate passivation treatment of zinc coating can reduce the cracking corrosion (white rust) under the condition of moisture temperature storage and transportation. However, the corrosion resistance of this chemical treatment is limited and hinders the adhesion of most coatings. This kind of treatment is not used in zinc-iron alloy coating. Except for finishing the surface, the production plant passivates other types of zinc coating as a routine.
2. Oiled
Oil coating can reduce the corrosion of steel plates under wet storage and transportation conditions, and the steel plate after passivation and steel strip re-oiling will further reduce the corrosion under wet storage conditions. The oil layer should be removed by a degreasing agent without damaging the zinc layer.
3. Paint coated
An additional corrosion protection, especially fingerprint resistance, can be provided by applying a very thin transparent organic coating film. The lubricity can be improved during molding and used as the adhesive substrate of subsequent coating.
4. Phosphate
Through phosphating treatment, all kinds of galvanized steel plates can be coated without further treatment except for normal cleaning. This treatment can improve the adhesion and corrosion resistance of the coating and reduce the risk of corrosion during storage and transportation. After phosphating, it can be used with suitable lubricants to improve molding performance.
5. No treatment
Only when the ordering party asks for nontreatment and is responsible for it, the steel plate and steel strip supplied according to this standard can be free from surface treatment such as passivation, oil coating, paint sealing, or phosphating.
