Silicon steel (also known as electrical steel) and ordinary cold-rolled steel are two different types of steel with some notable differences in their use, composition, and properties.

Silicon steel:
It is mainly used in the electric power and electronics industry to manufacture electric motors, transformers, generators and other electrical equipment. Its main features are low magnetic permeability and low eddy current loss, which can reduce the energy loss under the alternating magnetic field and improve the energy efficiency of the equipment.
Ordinary cold-rolled steel:
widely used in the manufacture of auto parts, home appliances, building materials and other general industrial fields. It has good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance and is often used in applications requiring strength and toughness.

Silicon steel:
Contains higher silicon content (about 2-4%), which is the key reason why it can exhibit low magnetic permeability and low eddy current loss.
Ordinary cold-rolled steel:
generally composed of carbon steel (low carbon content), alloy steel or stainless steel, etc., and its composition varies according to different uses and needs.
CHARACTERISTIC
Silicon steel:
has low hysteresis loss and low eddy current loss, which means less energy loss under alternating magnetic field, suitable for high frequency applications. At the same time, the low magnetic permeability of silicon steel helps to reduce the eddy current loss in the core.
Ordinary cold-rolled steel:
Usually has good mechanical properties, such as strength, toughness and ductility. They are better suited for applications that are subject to greater mechanical stress and do not require special magnetic properties.
In general, silicon steel and ordinary cold-rolled steel are steels designed for different fields and different specific requirements. Silicon steel is mainly used in electrical equipment to reduce energy loss, while ordinary cold-rolled steel is used in general industrial applications, emphasizing mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
