GI Steel Sheet

GI Steel Sheet is represented by cold- and hot-rolled coils with a zinc coating, which helps to protect the steel against atmospheric corrosion. Galvanised steel coils are successfully used in industries with stringent requirements for corrosion resistance, durability, strength and appearance, and can be formed or have various coatings applied.

 

Galvanizing refers to a surface treatment technology that coats a layer of zinc on the surface of metals, alloys or other materials to achieve aesthetics and anti-rust effects. The main method used now is hot-dip galvanizing. Because zinc is easy to form a layer of protective film on the surface at room temperature, which fully exerts its anti-atmospheric corrosion performance, zinc is widely used in the galvanizing industry, mainly for the surface coating of steel and steel structural parts (such as galvanized sheet ), widely used in automobile, construction, shipbuilding, light industry and other industries. For example, coatings containing zinc powder, zinc blocks for connection (steel components connecting ships, bridges and offshore oil and gas derricks), roofs made of galvanized iron sheets (zinc alloy sheets), hot-dip galvanized steel strips, etc.

In recent years, with the development of galvanizing process and the adoption of high-performance galvanizing brightener, galvanizing has been upgraded from the original protection purpose to protection-decorative application. At present, galvanizing accounts for more than half of the total consumption structure of zinc .
