What You Will Find in This Hub

This page is your single entry point to our
weekly steel price and market update
. We publish a structured, fact-based report every week - currently distributed as a downloadable PDF - covering the price moves, supply signals, and demand drivers that matter to anyone sourcing

steel products from China or competing with Chinese exporters in overseas markets.

Each weekly report is built around five core sections, so you can scan it in five minutes or read it end-to-end over coffee:
  • Raw Materials- scrap HMS 80:20 CFR Turkey, iron ore 62% Fe CFR China, pig iron, and ferroalloys
  • Semi-Finished Steel- billet, slab, and bloom prices from China FOB, Russia FOB, and CIS-to-Turkey CFR
  • Long Products- rebar, wire rod, beams, and sections from Turkey, CIS, and China
  • Flat Products- HRC, CRC, galvanized steel, PPGI, and plate from the major exporting hubs
  • Macro & Policy- China export licensing, EU CBAM progress, regional demand indicators, and currency commentary

Why Weekly Tracking Matters in 2026

Demand fromconstruction, machinery, automotive, shipbuilding, home appliances, renewable energy, and public infrastructurecan push the steel market upward or downward. When several factors change at the same time, prices may fluctuate quickly. For international buyers, price is not only about the mill quotation.

Freight rates, port congestion, customs policies, packaging requirements, inspection fees, payment terms, and delivery schedules can also affect the final landed cost.

By following steel industry updates, buyers can better understand why prices change and when it may be practical to confirm an order, adjust specifications, or plan future shipments.

Built for Steel Buyers, Distributors, and Project Owners

We write these updates for the people who actually move the metal - not for analysts behind a paywall. The typical reader is a procurement manager inSaudi Arabia, the UAE, Nigeria, Kenya, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brazil, or Chilewho is sourcing structural steel, coated steel, or long products for a construction, energy, or infrastructure project, and who needs to know whether to lock in a price this week or wait for a correction. We design every report so that the data and the takeaway are on the same page.

Inside Each Weekly Report

Raw Materials Snapshot

Scrap HMS 80:20 (80:20 mix) and shredded, pig iron from Brazil and Russia, and 62% Fe iron ore fines from Australia and Brazil. We report landed CFR prices for Turkey and China, and flag any week-on-week moves above USD 5/t.

Semi-Finished and Long Products

Billet and slab FOB China, FOB Russia, and CFR Turkey - followed by rebar, wire rod, and section prices across the same origins. These are the products most actively traded in the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Flat and Coated Products

HRC, CRC, hot-dip galvanized, PPGI, and plate. We watch the China-Turkey-Brazil spread closely because it directly affects landed cost in our largest export markets.

Macro and Policy Watch

China's reintroduction of steel export licensing from January 2026, EU CBAM phase-in milestones, MENA infrastructure pipeline updates, and the Brazilian and Indian domestic price floors.

A Quick Note on Methodology

Our weekly price tables are compiled from public benchmarks (Arab Iron and Steel Union, Mysteel, SteelOrbis, Fastmarkets) cross-checked against the live offers and tenders that flow through our Tianjin-based export desk. Where a Chinese mill price diverges from a Turkish or CIS reference, we flag the spread - because it's usually where the procurement decision actually lives. We never publish a number we cannot stand behind in front of a customer.
