One-time Cold Rolled Tinplate

One-time cold-rolled tinplate, also known as tinplate, is a type of metal sheet with unique properties and wide applications.

The base plate is made by annealing after one cold rolling of the hot-rolled plate. The base metal, usually steel, is first cold rolled to achieve the desired thickness and surface finish. Then, a layer of tin is electroplated onto the surface of the cold-rolled steel sheet. This tin plating not only provides excellent corrosion resistance but also gives the tinplate a smooth and shiny appearance. It usually has a thickness of 0.17-0.5mm. It is called "Single Reduce" in English, abbreviated as SR.

Stone Pattern Surface： The glazed surface obtained after fusing the electroplated tin raw material strip. It has whetstone patterns with a certain directionality.

Silver Surface： The glazed surface obtained after fusing the electroplated tin raw material strip. The surface is rough and lacks luster.

 

Base Plate Types

MR： It is the most commonly used steel type. With fewer residual impurities in the steelmaking process, it features excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.

L： It is a high corrosion-resistant tinplate base plate steel type, which is used for manufacturing food cans that contain acidic contents (such as oranges, yellow peaches, pineapples, etc.) and have a plain iron inner surface. This kind of tinplate is often referred to as a K plate.

D： It is a tinplate base plate steel type with high workability, used for manufacturing two-piece drawn and ironed cans. This kind of tinplate is usually called DI material.

SPCC： It has Chinese characteristics and is produced from common hot-rolled SPHC. It is typically applied in the production of miscellaneous cans.
