200 series stainless steel is a family of stainless steels with specific chemical composition and mechanical properties. This series of stainless steel mainly includes the following two main models:
201 stainless steel: 201 stainless steel is a low-nickel high-manganese stainless steel that contains about 1% nickel and 5.5%-7.5% manganese. It has a lower nickel content than typical 18-8 stainless steel (such as 304 stainless steel). 201 stainless steel has good corrosion resistance, high hardness and certain plasticity, and is suitable for the manufacture of some common household appliances, architectural decoration and light structures.
202 stainless steel: 202 stainless steel is a stainless steel with a lower nickel content, containing about 4%-6% nickel. It is similar to 201 stainless steel in terms of corrosion resistance, plasticity and hardness, and is often used to manufacture some general-purpose household appliances and decorative products.
Compared with 300 series and 400 series stainless steel, 200 series stainless steel has a lower nickel content, so the cost is lower, and it is suitable for some general applications with relatively low requirements.
200 series stainless steel usually has the following characteristics:
1. Low cost: Due to the low nickel content, the production cost of 200 series stainless steel is relatively low, making it an economical choice.
2. Good corrosion resistance: Despite the low nickel content, 200 series stainless steel still exhibits good corrosion resistance, especially resistance to general atmosphere, water and mild chemical environments.
3. Medium strength: 200 series stainless steel generally has moderate strength, making it perform well in some structural applications.
4. Certain plasticity: 200 series stainless steel has certain plasticity, which helps to realize various shapes in the process of manufacturing and forming.
5. Wide range of applications: 200 series stainless steel can be used in the manufacture of household appliances, architectural decoration, light structures, food processing equipment and some common industrial applications.
