BDI Freight Index Ends Four Consecutive Gains

The Baltic Dry index edged lower on Tuesday, snapping four straight gains, as the capesize and panamax indexes slipped. The Baltic Dry index fell 7 points, or 0.5%, to 1,510.

The capesize index fell 7 points, or 0.4%, to 1,986. Capesize average daily profit fell $55 to $16,471. The Panamax index fell 20 points, or 1.2%, to 1,667. Panamax's daily profits fell by $185 to $15,001. The Supramax index rose 4 points to a near one-month high of 1,216.
