Hebei Iron and Steel Group has taken another big step in green and low-carbon steel manufacturing! Following the world's first 1.2 million tons hydrogen metallurgy demonstration project in December 2022 and the "Hydrogen-based vertical furnace to near-zero carbon emission arc furnace" project in March 2024, the group has achieved another breakthrough.
They have integrated the green automotive steel production process, combining global innovation and top technology. This latest production line features a 1900mm single-strand continuous slab caster, capable of churning out 1.5 million tons of premium eco-friendly car steel each year.
It aims to reduce carbon emissions in the steel and automotive industries while providing lightweight, advanced, and environmentally friendly steel materials to global automakers.
