On December 15, Vietnam's hot coil import assessment price was 590-610 US dollars/ton (CFR), which continued to increase by 5-15 US dollars/ton on a week-on-week basis (mainly referring to 2-3mm re-rolled grade SAE1006 hot coil and similar products).
According to Vietnamese market news, the mainstream export quotation of China's SAE1006 hot coil to Vietnam last week was US$610-620/ton (CFR), but by last Friday a few Chinese suppliers had lowered their quotations to US$590/ton (CFR). Last week, a Vietnamese buyer purchased a batch of 5,000 tons of Chinese SAE1006 hot coils, with a transaction price of 597-605 US dollars/ton (CFR); last week, another Vietnamese buyer purchased a batch of Chinese spot SAE1006 hot coils, with a transaction price 590 US dollars/ton (CFR). Last week, the export price of SS400 hot coils from some large Chinese steel mills to Vietnam was 585-595 US dollars/ton (CFR); last week, the export quotation of Chinese Q195 hot coils to Vietnam was 575 US dollars/ton (CFR), and the actual transaction price of an order was 570 USD/ton (CFR). Last Thursday, Ha Tinh Steel, a mainstream Vietnamese steel company, raised the price of hot coils for February delivery in Vietnam by US$30/ton. After the increase, its non-finished SAE1006 hot coils were quoted at US$631-643/ton (CIF). A Vietnamese trader said that the main reason why Ha Tinh Steel has significantly increased the price of domestic hot coils in Vietnam is that its hot coil exports are excellent. The current export quotation of Ha Tinh Steel's hot coils is around US$660/ton (FOB), while in Ha Tinh Steel After the announcement of an increase in the price of hot coils, some Vietnamese buyers turned to purchasing Chinese hot coils. However, Vietnamese buyers' bids were low and the actual transactions were generally small.
On December 15, Vietnam's imported hot rolled coils from Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan were assessed at US$620-625/ton (CFR), showing an upward trend from the previous week's US$620/ton (CFR). Last week, the export quotation of SPHC/SS400/SPHT1 hot coils from Taiwan, China to Vietnam was US$635/ton (CFR); last week, the export quotation of hot coils from a mainstream steel mill in Japan to Vietnam was US$640/ton (CFR), and there were buyers from Vietnam. Home bids are 620-625 US dollars/ton (CFR).
