In January, Argentina's Crude Steel Production Slightly Rises

According to data provided by the Argentinian Steel Association (Acero Argentino), the country produced over 442,000 tons of crude steel in January of this year, a minor increase of 0.64% from the previous month. Argentina's production of hot-rolled coil increased by 8% to 195,000 tons over the time period, cold-rolled coil decreased by 3.5% to 109,000 tons, and long products decreased by 2.5% to 194,000 tons, all year-over-year. According to the association, the robust demand from the civil construction, energy, and agricultural machinery areas was a major factor in the growth in steel consumption in January.
