India's Second Quarter Y-o-y Growth in Crude Steel Production

According to statistics, India produced 33.63 million tons of crude steel in the second quarter, up 8.4% from the same period last year. The rise in output was driven by an increase in the demand for steel. During the second quarter, India's steel demand reached 30.3 million tons, up 10.2% annually.

India produced 32.4 million tons of completed steel during the same time period, an increase of 11.7% over the corresponding period in 2017.

The output of finished steel and crude steel climbed by 12% and 13.7%, year over year, to 10.5 million tons and 11.3 million tons in June alone.
