Steel coils and sheets
Exports:
9.278 million tons of steel products were exported to the Chinese market in November, 1.904 million tons less than in October, a month-on-month decrease of 17%.
Around 101.152 million tons of steel products were shipped in total from the beginning of January to the end of November 2024, which is 22.6% more than the same period last year.
Imports:
PR of China imported 473,000 tons of finished steel products in November 2024, 63,000 tons less than in October, a year-on-year decrease of 11.8%.
The whole import volume was 6.194 million tons from the beginning of January till the end of November 2024, which is around 11.3% less than last year.
Iron Ore
China's market greatly imported 101.862 million tons of iron ore in November 2024, 1.976 million tons less than in October, a drop of 1.9%.
From the beginning of January to the end of November, total imports were 1.124 billion tons, an increase of 4.3% compared to 2023.
Coal
In November 2024, PR of China imported 54.982 million tons of coal from other countries, 8.734 million tons more than in October, a rise of 18.9%.
From the beginning of January till the end of November, the total coal importing quantity was 490.349 million tons, up 14.8% from last year.
Steel exports and imports dropped in November of 2024, but total exports for the year grew greatly. Iron ore imports kept strong for the year, despite a small dip in November. Coal imports rose sharply in November and showed strong growth for the whole 2024 year.
