Photovoltaic power generation is a technology that directly converts light energy into electrical energy by using the photovoltaic effect at the semiconductor interface.
As early as 1839, the French scientist Becquerel discovered that light can generate potential differences between different parts of semiconductor materials. This phenomenon is called "photovoltaic effect", or "photovoltaic effect" for short. In 1954, Bell Laboratories in the United States made a practical monocrystalline silicon solar cell for the first time, giving birth to a practical photovoltaic power generation technology that converts sunlight energy into electrical energy.
The photovoltaic power station is a power generation system that uses solar energy and uses special materials such as crystalline silicon panels, inverters and other electronic components to connect to the grid and transmit power to the grid. Power development energy project.
Internationally, the research on photovoltaic power generation technology has a history of more than 100 years. Especially in the 1970s, with the development of modern industry, the global energy crisis and air pollution became increasingly prominent, and about 2 billion people in the world did not have normal energy supply. At this time, the inexhaustible, inexhaustible, pollution-free, cheap, and free-to-use solar radiation energy comes into people's field of vision.
my country began to study solar cells in 1958, and was successfully applied to the Dongfanghong-2 satellite launched by my country for the first time in 1971. In 1973, solar cells were used on the ground. In 2002, relevant state departments launched the "Power Transmission to Township Project", and installed photovoltaic power stations in nearly 800 townships without electricity in seven western provinces, driving the rapid development of my country's photovoltaic industry.
In recent years, the world's major economies have continuously upgraded their "dual carbon" goals, and vigorously developing clean energy such as photovoltaics and wind power has become a necessary means for the world to achieve carbon neutrality. According to statistics, from the perspective of the carbon emission structure of major countries in the world, except for France, which loves nuclear power, the carbon emissions of other countries mainly come from electricity and heat.
Compared with other natural energy sources, photovoltaic power generation has the following advantages:
- Extensiveness: Because the sun shines on the earth, photovoltaic power generation is less subject to geographical restrictions;
- Sustainability: solar energy resources are inexhaustible, and it is a truly renewable and clean energy;
- Flexibility: Photovoltaic systems can generate electricity and supply electricity on site without erecting transmission lines. They can be installed on the roof of residential facilities or in industrial-scale facilities to meet the electricity demand in buildings;
- Green and environmental protection: photovoltaic power generation itself does not consume fuel, does not emit any substances including greenhouse gases and other waste gases, does not pollute the air, and does not generate noise;
- Low operation and maintenance costs: Photovoltaic power generation has no mechanical transmission parts, stable and reliable operation, basically unattended, and low maintenance costs.
Theoretically speaking, photovoltaic power generation technology can be used in any occasion that needs power, ranging from spacecraft to household power, large megawatt power stations, and small toys. Photovoltaic power can be everywhere. At present, photovoltaic power generation has been used in transportation, construction, agriculture, villages, power stations, communications, hospitals, schools and other scenarios, which are closely related to our lives.
my country is located in the northern hemisphere, with a distance of more than 5,000 kilometers from north to south and from east to west. In China’s vast land, there are abundant solar energy resources. The annual average daily radiation in most areas is above 4 kWh per square meter. The daily radiation in Tibet Up to 7 kWh per square meter. Compared with other countries at the same latitude, my country has superior development potential.
According to the existing photovoltaic power generation projects on the market, combined with different application scenarios, solar photovoltaic power generation systems can be roughly divided into five types: grid-connected power generation systems, off-grid power generation systems, grid-connected and off-grid energy storage systems, and grid-connected energy storage systems and a variety of energy hybrid micro-grid systems.
Grid-connected power generation system
It consists of components, grid-connected inverters, photovoltaic meters, loads, bidirectional meters, grid-connected cabinets and grids.
The direct current generated by sunlight is converted into alternating current through the inverter, and then supplied to the load and connected to the grid. It can be directly used for household loads, and the excess electricity can also be sold into the grid, but the grid-connected inverter is generally a boost and inverter two-pole structure.
1. Connected to the grid, and part or all of the electricity is uploaded to the grid.
2. The power grid is cut off, and photovoltaic power generation is also stopped. Because the inverters have anti-islanding, that is to say, the power grid company requires that if the power grid fails, the photovoltaic power must also be cut off immediately. Mainly security considerations.
3. Residents still rely on city electricity at night.
4. There is no energy storage device.
Off-grid power generation system
It consists of photovoltaic modules, solar controllers, inverters, batteries, loads, etc. It operates independently without relying on the power grid, and is generally used in remote areas, areas without electricity, islands, communication base stations and street lights, etc.
In the case of sunlight, the solar energy is converted into electrical energy, and the load is powered through the solar controller integrated machine to charge the battery; when there is no light, the power of the battery can be used to supply power to the AC load through the inverter. The cost of the battery accounts for 30%-50% of the off-grid power generation system, and the off-grid inverter generally has a four-level structure of controller, boost, inverter, and isolation.
1. An independent system that does not depend on the grid. That is to say, no matter whether there is mains power or not, as long as there is sufficient sunlight, the off-grid system can work independently and provide power independently.
2. There are energy storage devices. That is to say, a battery is needed, otherwise it cannot work at night or on a rainy day.
And off-grid energy storage system
It is composed of photovoltaic modules, solar energy and off-grid integrated machine, battery, load, etc. It is widely used in scenarios such as frequent power outages or photovoltaic self-use without surplus electricity, self-use electricity price is more expensive than on-grid electricity price, peak electricity price is more expensive than valley electricity price, etc.
The photovoltaic array converts solar energy into electrical energy under the condition of light, and supplies power to the load through the solar controller inverter integrated machine, and at the same time charges the battery; when there is no light, the battery supplies power to the solar controller inverter integrated machine. Then supply power to the AC load function. Dual mode switching to ensure power supply requirements.
Photovoltaic grid-connected energy storage system
It consists of photovoltaic modules, solar controllers, batteries, grid-connected inverters, current detection devices, loads, etc. Can increase the proportion of self-consumption
When the solar power is less than the load power, the system is powered by the solar energy and the grid together. When the solar power is greater than the load power, the solar power supplies the load while storing the excess electricity through the inverter.
Microgrid system
A power distribution network composed of distributed power sources, loads, energy storage systems and control devices. The distributed energy can be converted into electrical energy on the spot, and then supplied to the local load nearby.
The microgrid system is an autonomous system capable of self-control, protection and management. It can not only be connected to the external power grid, but also can operate in isolation, which greatly solves the problem of distributed power grid connection and promotes the integration of distributed power The large-scale access of renewable energy is an efficient supply of multiple forms of energy for the load, and a smart grid system that realizes the active distribution network.
