The World Steel Association reports that global crude steel output reached 148 million tons in January of this year, up 8.2% from the previous month and down 1.6% from January to February.
Among them, China's steel production totaled 77 million tons, marking a 6.6% decline from the previous year. In Asia, the overall production of crude steel dropped to 108 million tons, reflecting a 3.6% decrease annually. Meanwhile, the 27 EU nations collectively produced 10.2 million tons of crude steel, experiencing a 1.8% annual decrease.
