One of the greatest lithium resources in the world, the northeast of the Manono Lithium Mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), has been granted a license for exploration and development to China's Zijin Mining.
If the feasibility and exploratory investigations go well, it might turn into Zijin's first lithium production project in Africa and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
In order to create the metal used in batteries for electric vehicles, Zijin has continued to invest in lithium assets recently, including both domestic mines and locations in Argentina.
