To Meet Battery Demand, India's RecycleKaro Wants To Construct A Nickel Smelter.

RecycleKaro, a lithium-ion battery recycling company, announced plans to invest 1 billion rupees in the construction of a nickel mill in Maharashtra, India, with an annual output of 1,200 tons.

In a release, the business stated that the new mill will generate nickel products from trashed lithium-ion batteries and nickel hydroxide. Production is set to begin around the end of 2023. It will contribute to meeting long-term demand for lithium-ion battery production.

India's yearly nickel demand is now entirely dependent on imports. This mill will help to solve the world's nickel shortage and will help India become more self-sufficient in this field.

RecycleKaro estimated that the demand for nickel goods for the battery industry will increase tenfold by 2030, despite the fact that its customer countries are not that numerous presently. The corporation also thinks that new mill will assist India in expanding its worldwide market and creating job opportunities.
