Core Cross-sectional Area

Working Principle
Transformer cores operate under alternating current (AC) conditions, where energy loss, commonly known as iron loss, occurs. Iron loss is caused by two factors:
Hysteresis Loss: Results from the magnetization process in the core material. By using silicon steel with a narrow hysteresis loop, this loss is minimized, reducing heat generation.
Eddy Current Loss: Alternating magnetic flux induces circulating currents (eddy currents) in the core. These losses are reduced by using thin, insulated silicon steel sheets to limit current paths and increase resistance.
