Imports Of HDG Steel Into The US Fell in June Both Y-o-y And M-o-m.

The US imported around 163,000 tons of hot-dip galvanized (HDG) sheets and strips in June of this year, down 14% from the previous month and up 18% from the same month a year prior, according to preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC).

The majority of them came from imports from Canada, which totaled over 78,000 tons, an increase of 4.9% from month to month and a rise of 26.8% from year to year. Brazil (around 17,400 tons) and Mexico (about 15,200 tons) were two additional significant import sources.

The import value was around US$210 million throughout the time period, a decrease of 30% annually and 13.6% monthly.
